WeNabe — Privacy notice

Who we are

WeNabe (wenabe.com) is run by [ORGANISATION NAME], [ADDRESS]. [ORGANISATION NAME] decides how your information is used and is responsible for it (the "controller"). Questions about your data: privacy@wenabe.com. ICO registration: [ICO REGISTRATION NUMBER, if required].

The short version

  • WeNabe is free for job seekers. We don't sell your data or share it for advertising.
  • Most of what you tell us is private. Your profile is public only if it is approved and you choose to make it public.
  • Your phone number and address are seen only by you, by the people whose listings you apply to (for that application), and by WeNabe's administrators.
  • Telling us about your faith-related workplace preferences is optional. They are private, and we only keep them with your explicit consent.
  • You can delete your account, and we then remove your personal data from the app.

Special category data

Information that shows your religion or beliefs is "special category data" under UK law. We only store faith-related preferences if you choose to give them, with your explicit consent. They are never public, never used to decide who can apply for anything, and you can remove them at any time in your account settings.

Listings imported from other websites

Some listings come from other job and charity websites. Each is marked "Imported from [source]" and links to the original. We don't receive any information about you from those websites. If you follow the link, their own privacy policy applies.

Who we share information with

We don't sell your data. We use a small number of service providers who process data for us under contract:

  • Database and sign-in: Supabase, hosted in [REGION — UK or EU].
  • Website hosting: [HOSTING PROVIDER, REGION].
  • Email (only once we send any): [EMAIL PROVIDER].

We may also share information if the law requires it.

Where your data is stored

In [UK / EU REGION]. If any provider moves data outside the UK, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place. [SOLICITOR TO CONFIRM]

How long we keep it

  • Account, profile and private details: until you delete your account.
  • Applications: 12 months after the listing closes, then deleted.
  • Newsletter sign-up: until you unsubscribe.
  • Contact messages: 12 months.
  • Moderation records: 2 years. Names are removed when an account is deleted.
  • Backups: 30 days.

Deleting your account

When you delete your account we remove your account, private details, profiles, your online CV, matching preferences, applications, stories, events, board posts and reactions, and your newsletter sign-up. Moderation records keep what happened, without linking it to you.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, receive a copy to take elsewhere, and withdraw consent at any time. Contact privacy@wenabe.com. We reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Age

WeNabe is for people aged 18 and over.
